Hurricane Is Heading For Us

We almost got away with a clean summer hurricane season. Tampa looks to be in the spaghetti line crosshairs of a potential CATEGORY 3 hurricane. Nothing is set in stone by the National Weather Service yet. Lots of plotting and map assumptions can be scary for new Floridians.

I've been here since 2002 and have seen my share of hurricanes. 2004 was the worst in my opinion because the winds destroyed power lines for weeks. And having small children in and atmosphere like that makes it even more suspect.

I received my monthly water deliver of 6 full cases of water. So really the only thing I will be getting on Sunday is can foods and maybe some more cold cuts. More batteries and recharging the power supply will be another task for the weekend. We will be watching the news astutely.

First Sweet Pairing of a Maduro Cigar

A few weeks ago I traveled down to Johns Pass in southern Pinellas county. Florida has several of these resort sleepy towns that sometimes have a boardwalk with shops and other tourist businesses.
The drive from Hillsborough to Pinellas along I-275 wasnt bery eventful drive. No accidents and going over the long bridge to Clearwater was decent.
I found Cuban Paradise, the cigar shop within a small coffee bar in the front. As pictured above there is a cigar roller behind the glass too.
They gave a very nice line of sweet Maduro cigar offerings of varying sizes. I was happy with a 54 sized torpedo tip that was rather sweet to the taste.
I enjoyed this cigar very much. However, the price per stick was a little steep for what I expected. Evidently, these sticks are "tourist priced".
